Poor Quality Auto Upholstery, Bad Carpet & Shoddy Headliner Work
Kelly's Upholstery
1419 South Bumby, Orlando Florida 32806

Introduction:

I will not let Kelly's Upholstery in Orlando, Florida do auto upholstery, carpet or headliner work on my car again.

Kelly’s Quality Upholstery in Orlando Florida did a VERY POOR job on the Auto Upholstery, Carpets and Headliner they installed in a
1988 Porsche 944 Turbo S that my father left me when he passed away Christmas last year.

Many attempts were made to reach out to Kelly to resolve the issues with the Leather Seats, Carpets and Headliner.
Each attempt ended in a yelling match with Kelly. For the record, Kelly did agree that he is unhappy with the work but that he is not responsible
to make it right...Go figure!

I paid $4,450.00 to have the Leather Seats Recovered, Carpets replaced and the Headliner repaired.
I am not happy with the POOR QUALITY of the Workmanship and the Crap Customer Service I received at Kelly’s Quality Upholstery
located at 1419 South Bumby, Orlando Florida 32806 in Orlando, Florida.

The New Leather Seats are mismatched badly with the Original Interior Colors.

The New Leather is White - The Original Leather Seats were Tan, just like the rest of the interior.

The New Leather on the Seats is Loose and appears Stretched in many places.

The Leather Workmanship is Poor!

Issues:

1.) The New Leather used by Kelly's to cover the Front seats does not match the original leather color at all.
The New Leather Seats look Off White and clash with the original Tan rear seats, dash and door panels.
Kelly refused to match the seats to the original Tan Leather color and make it right!

2.) The New Leather Seats fit loose as if it were stretched out of shape.
Kelly refused to tighten the loose fitting Leather and make it right!

3.) The Carpet used by Kelly's to replace the original carpet is at least several shades darker that the original carpet.
The carpet is installed very poorly in the back hatch area and fell apart the first time it was lifted to access the rear cargo area.
Kelly refused to reinstall new carpet and make it right!

4.) There are Blood Stains on the new Leather Driver Seat and New Carpet from where Kelly cut himself during the job and bled in the car.
These Blood Stains WILL NOT come out of the Leather or Carpet and Kelly will not replace them to make it right!

5.) The way in which the bill was collected was very shady!

a.) I was asked to pay the final bill in full before the work was complete.

b.) Kelly's Upholstery bill was actually collected by a seperate company, Color Key, (a friend of Kelly's and mine) that was painting the car.

c.) Kelly turned the management of the Interior work over to Billy at Color Key after Kelly and I had a heated conversation early on concerning
the mismatched color of the Leather Seats he ordered.

d.) The conversation got heated when I insisted that Kelly make an exchange, deal or whatever arangement he needed to make with his Leather supplier
to get the correct Tan leather and that trying to stick me with the wrong color Leather was not an option.

e.) Kelly has been in business for over 20 years. You would think he would have a good enough relationship with his Leather Supplier to exchange the
incorrect White Leather he ordered for the correct Tan leather we needed and that if he had managed his job properly, I (the customer) would have never
even know of this issue. Remenber, I paid Kelly $4,450.00 dollars for the work to be done right.

f.) In hindsight, I can see now that Kelly knew he had Trainwrecked this job so he used Color Key to get paid in full, in advance, before the
Leather Seats, Carpets and Headliner were installed and before I could actually see how mismatched the color of the Seats and carpets were,
the poor workmanship of the carpets and the blood stains left on the seat and the carpet from Kelly cutting himself during the job.

g.) I realize now I should have not paid Color Key for Kelly's work prior to it being completed but the Paint job ran very long at Color Key
and there were several reason why I was convinced by Billy to go ahead and pay for the work in advance, even against my better judgement.
1.) I was going out of town for a few weeks (Birthday / Memorial Day) and would not be back to get the car.
FYI, this car being restored was my Birthday gift to myself... What a nightmare...
2.) I was told that Kelly was broke and needed the money bad, so I paid in advance through Color Key even though the work was not complete.
3.) Billy at Color Key was grieving the passing of his child from one year earlier and needed to be paid as well.

h.) I expected that Kelly and Billy would stand behind their work in the event of an issue so I reluctantly paid the final amount due, before the job was finished.

i.) When the New Leather Seats, Carpets and Headliner were installed, the colors did not match at all.

j.) Kelly's Leather and Carpet work was very poor.

k.) Kelly did not stand behind his work and blamed everyone but himself for the poor work he did on the Leather Seats, Carpet and Headliner.

l.) During my last phone call with Kelly he stated "I got paid from Color Key so I don't care".

6.) These issues were personally brought to Kelly's attention on several occasions, Kelly took zero responsibility for his poor work and the mismatched
Leather Seats and Carpet colors.

Closing...

I am a car guy and my dad was a car guy.
I originally bought this car for my dad.
He loved the car and gave it to me when he passed.
This car is now a Memorial to my father.
Putting the car back into Original Condition was my top priority.
I tried to explain to Kelly before the job started that the car had much sentimental value.
I say "tried to explain" because Kelly is one of those people that talks your head off, never letting you get a word in edge wise.

I currently do not enjoy driving the car because the Interior of the car looks terrible.
I have not shown the car to my mother or family members because of the Interior.
Also, I can't help but feel the disrespect Kelly showed toward my deceased father in not getting this right.

I will save up another 4-5 Thousand Dollars (I don't have) to redo the Poor Auto Upholstery work done by Kelly’s Quality Upholstery!
